Some will have more velocity layers while others will have more bow types, and others have more ensemble and FX sounds (trills, crescendo's, etc). They all vary and excel in different ways.

If you go that route, make sure you download their free version of Vienna Ensemble. It gives you a wide variety to play with, key switches, custom velocity curves, built-in Algo reverb (if you want it), etc. There is no grand, all-encompassing library in my opinion. Vienna has served me well for years, as have East West libraries, Garritan, and even synths. Your opinions specifically with choosing a new library are greatly appreciated. I would prefer to use a single company's library (as opposed to different sections from different libraries) for consistency of sounds and ambience, and also for overall ease of implementation for me. I would say $2000 would be my limit, money-wise, for all sections combined. What I'm looking for is all-around speed and convenience of use combined with the most flexible and varied sound palette I can get without having to mortgage my house.
